You can make a difference in someone’s life and all it will cost you is a little bit of your time. Donate blood.
The blood supply in our country is dangerously low due to the coronavirus pandemic. There haven’t been any big blood drives, many people are staying home, and some are concerned about the safety of giving blood. The Red Cross has measures in place to keep you safe while you are donating – they always have, and now those measures have been expanded.
I donated in April, and again yesterday, so I’ve seen all the masks, gloves, temperature taking, cleaning and social distancing that’s now in place when you go in to donate blood. And it doesn’t take long at all – less than an hour from start to finish for me, and that even includes my relaxation period afterwards, Yeah, I get super lightheaded, so I get to lay down, feet up, in front of a big powerful fan after the vampires have had at me….tee hee. But seriously, I use the Rapid Pass to fill out my information early in the day, then after I’m checked in, they just scan the QR code from my phone, and boom, ready to rock. You save time by getting the questionnaire filled out in advance, and your donation could save a life.
