So many inspiring stories from Hurricane Ian are coming out: First, a guy went viral last week for rescuing a stray cat from rising floodwaters as Ian made landfall. Now it turns out two cops in Tampa also rescued a kitten in the storm and named it “Stormie.” This story has been all over the news – a reporter in Orlando saved a nurse by carrying her through floodwaters after she got stranded in her car. And Good Samaritans saved an older guy from a flooded vehicle near Fort Myers.……………..And finally today……………. 26 year old Cheynne Prevatt, whose home was damaged in the storm, waded through chest-high floodwaters just to check on a complete stranger’s 84-year-old mom. Christine Bomlitz, a Las Vegas resident, couldn’t reach her mom, Shirley Affolter, after the hurricane, and took to social media to ask for help. Affolter, who lost her cell phone before the storm, also had her landline go down, and an evacuation vehicle had missed her on its route, and since she uses a walker to get around, she was stuck. Prevatt was able to reach her, and mother and daughter were able to speak briefly on the phone. The 84 year old was later put on a paddleboard and rescued.
