Today’s Good News:

Back in 1994, a pilot for Southwest named Ruben Flowers took a photo in the cockpit with his young son in the co-pilot’s seat.  Now almost 30 years later, they got to recreate that photo.  His son is a Southwest pilot too now, and got to sit shotgun on his dad’s very last flight before he retired. ………….. You’ve really gotta see this to appreciate it.  The look on the mom’s face is everything:  There’s a 14-second video making the rounds of a non-verbal kid with autism speaking to his mom for the first time.  She said “good morning” to him, and he said it back twice.  (Here’s the video.)………………..And finally……………

A four-year-old kid with autism jumped in a lake in Michigan while his grandma was babysitting last month.  Accidental drownings are the top cause of death for autistic kids, but he’s okay after a neighbor jumped in and saved him. A Ring camera got it on video.  Her name is Jessica Bauer, and she has a three-year-old herself.  She joked that she definitely didn’t have time to think, because she doesn’t swim well.  She only doggy paddles. Both she and the boy are doing fine.
