America just recently replenished its panda supply.  The San Diego Zoo announced two giant pandas arrived safe and sound, on loan from China.  They’re the first new pandas to hit the U.S. in 21 years. Zoo Atlanta is the only other zoo in America that has pandas right now, and those four are heading back to China at the end of the year. So we were about to be panda-less………. A 143-year-old church caught fire near Philadelphia recently and could have been a total loss.  But when it happened, nearly every member of a fire department a mile away happened to be at the station for a weekly meeting, so they got there in less than three minutes and saved the church………………And finally………….

On Memorial Day, a Louisiana woman met Dillon McCormick, an Air Force vet, who was working in 90-degree heat at age 90.  She saw him gathering carts in a Winn-Dixie parking lot and asked why he hadn’t retired yet.  He said he couldn’t afford to.  So she posted the footage online, started a GoFundMe trying to raise $30K to help him out, and people chopped in over 230 GRAND. She called to tell him the good news, but he hung up, thinking she was a scammer, so she went to his place and told him in person. He says he’s grateful to the more than 3,000 people who donated . . . but last we heard, he still hadn’t retired.   He decided he doesn’t want to quit yet, but now he can whenever he’s ready.
