WSFL Rock Dog of the Week 8-12-24

Check out September! He’s a big loving goofball – a hound mix who is almost three years old. Do you know what they say about big dogs? That’s just more dog to love! He’s very playful, but also happy to settle down with a good chew toy. His favorite toy is a squeaky tennis ball. He’s everything you think of in a dog; he loves to fetch endlessly, play tug, kiss, and curl up at the foot of the bed with you. He will snuggle with you any chance he gets.

Sep is very people- and dog-friendly, knows how to sit and come, is crate-trained, house-trained, and still perfects his leash training. Anyone looking for a big, silly baby would not go wrong with him. Sep’s intelligence and eagerness to please make training sessions a joy. He picks up new commands quickly and is always ready to show off his latest tricks, earning treats and praise with his charming antics. His progress with leash training is a testament to his willingness to learn and grow, and with a bit more practice, he’ll be the perfect walking buddy. In short, Sep is a one-of-a-kind dog who brings joy, love, and laughter to everyone he meets. He’s not just a pet; he’s a cherished family member, ready to share his boundless affection and zest for life with anyone lucky enough to welcome him into their home.

September tested positive for heartworms. HSEC gives heartworm-positive dogs a course of antibiotics and steroids. They then receive monthly heartworm prevention, as any dog should. We recommend speaking to your veterinarian before adopting a heartworm-positive dog. Interested in adopting September? Head over to hsecarolina.org to apply today, and meet Sep in person at:
