Augusta National Golf Club  here the Masters is held, is donating a big chunk of money to help with hurricane relief.  They partnered with a charity for a joint $5 million donation to help victims around Augusta, Georgia.  They also made a separate donation to the Red Cross………… A “food pharmacy” for seniors just opened in Washington, D.C.  Instead of drugs, they give out healthy food to help keep things like diabetes in check.  Your doctor writes a prescription for “medically tailored groceries”, and every two weeks, you get restocked with stuff like fresh produce and whole wheat pasta……………And finally…………

18-year-old Sam Dutcher was driving in rural MN last month when his 2022 Honda Pilot would not stop accelerating because the computer had malfunctioned.  Sam called 911, and explained that his car kept going faster, racing along at 80mph, then 90 . . . 100 . . . finally 113. The operator ran through several suggestions, but the vehicle wouldn’t stop and was headed for a  dead end. Police were hoping to drop stop sticks in his path, but he was going too fast, and that’s when MN State Trooper Zach Gruver raced past him at 130mph in his Dodge Charger, got in front of him, and another cop told Sam to crash into the cruiser.  He did, and both vehicles stopped with no injuries. State Trooper Gruver said “I don’t think I did anything special.  I think it came down to [the fact] that I had the fastest car and I was able to get in front of him . . . right place, right time kind of thing.”
