A 20-year-old guy from South Africa barely survived a vicious shark attack this year while snorkeling in French Polynesia.  And he decided to own the experience by making himself a “trophy.”  Doctors pulled one of the shark’s teeth out of his left arm, and he turned it into an earring…………… There’s a story in the news about a 24-year-old woman named Peri Finkelstein who has a rare form of muscular dystrophy but doesn’t let it hold her back.  She’s completed 12 marathons in her wheelchair and raised over $1 million for charity along the way……..And finally……………. 

A 17-year-old kid in Hawaii lost his paddle while kayaking near Honolulu last Wednesday, and drifted out to sea.  But an off-duty lifeguard who happened to know his family went searching and eventually rescued him.  He searched in a zig-zag pattern for 100 miles. A Coast Guard helicopter eventually spotted the kid at four in the morning, and the lifeguard was the closest to him, so he pulled him out of the water.  The kid was out there for almost 12 hours and said it was nice to see a familiar face pick him up.
