A six-year-old girl in England named Ada Hawkes had a happy Halloween thanks to a bunch of neighbors who learned sign language for her. Over half of the people in her neighborhood took time out to learn some simple phrases, like “trick or treat” and “you look spooky.”………….. A one-year-old dog in Canada named Phoenix has been nursing a stray kitten that showed up in her owner’s yard last month. She’s never been pregnant but started producing milk. Her owner says it’s an example of how “nature is so amazing.” The story went viral on Halloween, because the kitten’s name is Snickers……..And finally…………
A mom and daughter in West Jefferson, NC named Jen Byland and Taylor Lonon are in the news after turning their business into a full-time hurricane relief center. They run a big place called Jimmy & Jean’s Family Entertainment and Arcade. After Hurricane Helene, they still had water, power, a working kitchen, and plenty of space, so they started offering free hot meals, internet access, showers, and free entertainment for kids. They’re also a free grocery store where anyone can get clothes, food, and supplies. Folks from 38 states have donated or pitched in to help. Jen and Taylor say they didn’t mean to do it. It just sort of happened, because it had to.
