Fishing Report 11-8-24

Many of us will be throwing our diet plans out the window with the holidays here.  Well, the fish are pretty much doing the same thing.  The fresh and saltwater fish are gorging on live bait to get ready for winter.

The inshore saltwater fish like speckled trout and red drum are filling up on shrimp right now, so any lures that mimic shrimp are a good choice.  Lures like gulp, DOA shrimp on a popping cork, and live shrimp are your best bets, along with curly tail grubs, mirror lures, and sting silvers.

The spots are here still and blood worms and shrimp are good choices.

Off shore the kings are still active, along with yellow fin tuna and wahoo.

Bottom fishing off shore is spectacular with great catches of bee liners, trigger fish and black sea bass.

Fresh water fishing is amazing as long as the weather is warm. The guy writing this went out recently to a private pond and caught five bass in 45 minutes, all over 15 inches long, using a Whopper Plopper top water bait.  Bass are also hitting spinner baits.  The bream are good on crickets and night crawlers.  The crappie are biting on jigs and minnow.  Beetle spins and Road runners catch everything..

Today’s plan: Call in sick to go fishing, take a kid fishing, and pick up your trash.
