OR man Ken Reese is pushing 70, but one of his kidneys just turned 100. His mom Doris gave it to him in 1975 when he was battling kidney disease. He likes to say she gave him life twice . . . once when he was born, and again with the kidney. Donating her kidney never affected Doris’ health. She was 88 when she passed away in 2012. Monday would have been her 100th birthday…………. A guy in Arkansas bought his mom a lottery ticket for her birthday, and she won $200,000. She told lottery officials he’s a “good son” and always takes care of her…………..And finally………..
A worker at a MO thrift store discovered some World War Two love letters in a donation bin. She didn’t know who left them, although it seems like they didn’t realize they were there. She started Googling the names, Chester McMeen and his wife, Alma, to unravel the mystery, and was put in touch with their son, who said the couple lived a very happy life and they did get to do the stuff that Chester promised they’d do when he returned from the war. He and Alma spent nearly 70 years married before they both passed away. The letters are now on their way to the family.
