Researchers have developed a new type of asphalt capable of repairing its own cracks over time. The asphalt mixture includes tiny plant spores filled with recycled oils, and when compressed, the resulting process enables the asphalt to mend its own cracks over time, effectively “stitching” the material back together………….. On Valentine’s Day, Guinness World Records recognized the current record for the longest marriage for a living couple.  It’s a Brazilian couple who are now 105 and 101 years old and they’ve been married just over 84 years.  They raised 13 children, who have given them 55 grandchildren . . . 54 great-grandchildren . . . and now 12 great-great-grandchildren……..And finally………… 

J Mack Slaughter, a Fort Worth, TX E.R. doctor, was having breakfast with his wife and three kids recently, and shared a photo after someone paid his $85 bill at a restaurant and thanked him for being a “great dad.”  They wrote on the receipt, “Thank you for being the dad they need you to be, regardless of who’s watching.”  And they signed it, “A retired Army Medic.” Slaughter was moved to tears by the gesture, and said “It was just $85 to [the stranger] — but to me, it was so much more.”. Then he added that “random acts of kindness are so powerful.”  By the way – today is National Random Acts of Kindness Day.
