Good News

We’re a couple weeks away from Mardi Gras, and this is great news if you’d like to practice responsible merriment. LSU researchers have created biodegradable beads, which contain seeds . . . so once they break down, they can sprout plants.  The beads are still in the early stages, and 3D-printing them takes about 90 minutes…………..For over a decade, 34-year-old Sean Stewart and his team have been handing out roses to single and widowed women in Washington state.  And since 2015, he has had a Facebook page called “Rose Rush,” where people can nominate recipients.  This year, they gave out flowers to more than 120 people…………And finally………..

23-year-old Londoner Joshua Andrew has now saved his dad’s life not once, but twice.  His dad David had non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma 10 years ago, and Josh donated bone marrow to help save him. Fast forward to 2024, when he found out his dad was suffering from chronic kidney disease as a result of the chemo he received to treat his cancer.  Father and son have matching immune systems and Joshua’s kidney was a perfect match for David. The surgery happened in January and they’re both doing great. Grateful mom and wife Lois said: “I am so proud of them both, it’s actually difficult to put into words – David, for always just accepting what has been thrown at him and getting on with whatever treatment he requires to give him the best chance – Josh, for just saying ‘well why wouldn’t I do it for my dad?'”
