Thiberville, a small town in France near Normandy, randomly inherited $10 million. A 91-year-old guy who’d never even been there left them $10.2 million from his estate, because it’s where his family name came from. His name was Roger Thiberville. Less than 1,800 people live in the town, and $10 million is more than five times their annual budget, so they’re putting it in the bank and planning to slowly dole it out………….. Japan is selling a new type of eco-friendly toilet paper made from used diapers. Two towns started separating them out from their trash last year, and collected around 100 tons of them. They bleach and sanitize the diapers, then shred them so they can be reused. It’s good for the planet, and they’re cheap – a dozen rolls costs less than $3………And finally………………
A security guard at NY’s Metropolitan Museum of Art is also now a featured artist there. 45-year-old Armia Malak Khalil graduated from art school in his 20s, and moved to the U.S. in 2006 with less than $400 in his pocket. He’d been working as a security guard at the museum for a decade when a curator found out he was an artist and liked his stuff. Now one of his sculptures is part of an exhibit called “Flight into Egypt” that features art from 1876 to present day.
