New Orleans native Dr. Leona Tate, a civil rights pioneer and activist, was honored by the NFL and received a surprise pair of tickets to the 2025 Super Bowl…………………The “Never Miss a Super Bowl Club” is still at it. The three surviving members . . . aged 88, 85, and 82 . . . all made it to yesterday’s game. They’ve gone to every Super Bowl since the first one in 1967. (The 85-year-old joined the group in 2017, but he’s also been to every single Super Bowl.)……………And finally……………
Philly native and Eagles fan Eloise Brown celebrated her birthday at Philly’s win over Dallas on December 29. She had turned 102 one week earlier, on December 22. At the game, the team gifted her with a custom-made No. 102 jersey as she met and took photos with players and Head Coach Nick Sirianni. The team gave her another surprise last week, telling her and her family they were bringing them to New Orleans for the big game. There’s a video online of her celebrating the Eagles victory in the stands by dancing in her wheelchair. (Here’s the video they posted on Saturday, and here she is celebrating the win last night.)
