An Illinois firefighter got trapped under rubble last Thursday when a home’s porch roof collapsed on him.  But first responders and bystanders rushed in to lift it up, and he’s okay. There’s chest-cam footage, and you see a huge fireball from an upstairs window right when it happens.  The home was a total loss, but no one was seriously hurt.  (Here’s the video.)……….. Microsoft genius Bill Gates recently said his three kids will inherit less than 1% of his fortune.  He’s estimated to be worth $101.2 billion . . . so 1% of that is STILL at least $1 billion.  Bill said, quote, “In my case, my kids got a great upbringing and education but less than 1% of the total wealth because I decided it wouldn’t be a favor to them.” The bulk of his wealth will go to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the world’s largest private charitable organization. Of his kids Bill said, “I want to give them a chance to have their own earnings and success . . . the highest calling for these resources is to go back to the neediest through the foundation.”……..And finally……………..

A group of frat guys at the University of Southern MS reunited a woman with her lost dog five years after he went missing.  Kingston the Yorkie disappeared 300 miles away after Hurricane Laura hit LA in 2020.  The president of the school’s Kappa Sigma chapter says Kingston just showed up on their porch last week, so they got his microchip scanned and tracked down the owner.  She never thought she’d see him again, so their reunion on Friday was pretty emotional.
